Sensor [FIT]

Sensor [fit] is architecturally design for a famous sculpture artist – Theaster Gates from Chicago. The building designed not just for a day attraction, but the spaces serve as a SOHO for him, his assistant and his students. The building consists of 3 main spaces – gallery, office and workshop, proposed with refined materials: timber, concrete, glass and brick. It perfectly planned with maximize the positive view to the river, with adding balcony and outdoor breakout area. To marry the building with Gates’s works, Sensor [fit] becomes a large sculpture by itself. With the special column and huge rotating doors at the entrance to become the primary attraction, drawing the visitors from the outdoor gallery across the sensory spaces and strengthening its pride and sense of identity of “feeling came from the deepest heart”.
