Skudai Riverfront

[ to bring or be brought the river back to life, consciousness, or strength; to give or assume new vitality for the river; and to make the river become operative or active again; the youth movement was revived. ]

In this chance, a real project carried out  and issued from a real client which is Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, Johor. This project can be considered as river revitalisation where ideas and solution  are emerged  to plan, and design the best panoramic view for Skudai river. The existing site can be considered as dilapidated riverfront and some regeneration ideas are necessary to give a new life an impact to the riverbank and its surrounding. The importance of river towards bringing life to human and ecology is a significant task, not merely to environmentalist but also to the built environmentalist. River has a lot to offer, thus the development along riverside is an opportunities to incorporate mesmerising building design with water elements for community enhancement program. Thus, in this project, the river ecologically is being concerned but also culturally. Both the nature and also the culture of the site which located in Johor are preserved. Culture is quickly forgotten day by day, so is the self-awareness of how important protecting the nature really is. Therefore, a public space which function is not only as a river revitalization but also can increase the realization of the people on how essential it is to save the environment, uniting the people and reviving the excitement of having rich culture by providing spaces that cover the three aspects which are ecological, recreational, and also economically beneficial.
